Over the weekend we finally got to toast the opening of our new store in Newport Beach’s Lido Marina Village shopping center. It was a low-key, intimate gathering; just good friends, a few easy snacks, and delicious cocktails. We celebrated with Los Angeles handbag designer Clare Vivier, who also recently opened a store in the beautiful open-air […]

A peek inside handbag designer Clare Vivier’s warm and welcoming craftsman abode.
One of our favorites joins us for yet another seasonal collaboration!
Cleo and McShane Murnane’s Silver Lake hillside home was years in the making, but as founders of the graphic design and architecture firm, Project M Plus, building and designing it was a labor of love. The home is minimalist inside and out, with surprising features and textural décor touches that give it intimacy and warmth. […]
From chefs and event designers to florists, there are so many talented women doing inspiring things for food and hospitality in Los Angeles. Helen Johannesen is one such person. She oversees the operations and beverage programs at some of Los Angeles best restaurants, including Animal, Petit Trois, and Trois Familia. She’s also a co-owner of […]
As I shared this week, I’m big fan of all things Heather Taylor, especially her beautiful linens. I’ve been wanting to incorporate them into a dinner party, and a Cinco de Mayo get-together felt like the perfect opportunity. For the next in our Seasonal Entertaining series, Heather and I hosted a festive holiday dinner at […]
I love being able to take a peek inside both the work and home spaces of those I am inspired by, and seeing how the two complement each other. For the lovely and talented Heather Taylor, whose studio we visited yesterday, those two spaces are quite close, at least in proximity (she recently converted her […]
I was introduced to Heather through Simone LeBlanc and simultaneously fell in love with both her line of textiles and home goods, Heather Taylor Home, and her blog, LA In Bloom. Inspired by her love of travel and eclectic entertaining style, her handmade textiles are simply beautiful, and I’m thrilled to now carry them in my stores. Heather was kind enough to […]
I was connected to Amanda through my friend Simone. An award winning photographer that counts Vogue, Conde Nast Traveler, GQ, and The Guardian as clients, her debut feature film, Echo Park, was released in 2014. Amanda lives in Echo Park in a home with touches of Spanish, and no shortage of charm. I hope you enjoy this look inside.
I met Claire through Yayo Ahumada, one of the amazing photographers that we work with. A self-taught chef and unabashed food enthusiast, she is the host of Food For Thought With Claire Thomas and works as a nationally recognized commercial director, food photographer, and writer, using her wildly popular blog, The Kitchy Kitchen, as an “experimental playground.”
As you know from last year’s Leopard post, I have a bit of an obsession with animal prints, and especially for fall, can’t get enough. Here are some of my favorite moments for the season:
Shiva Rose is an actress, mother of two, and author of the fantastic blog the Local Rose. I went to visit her beautiful home and ask her to share her secrets with Rip+Tan. I met Shiva years ago when she was neighbors with my best friend Nicole Simone and was instantly drawn to her energy and her healthy, laid-back lifestyle.
As you know from my post last week, I’ve finally opened my second location in the Brentwood Country Mart. It’s one of my favorite spaces that I’ve done and I hope that when you visit the store, you love it as much as I do.
