As a swimwear designer Marysia Dobrzanska Reeves is known for spare and feminine suits, many of which are finished with a striking scalloped edge. In her home and her wardrobe, that same juxtaposition between natural ease and strong modernity exists as well. The combination is perfect for those of you who lean bohemian in your wardrobes but have to dress up a bit for work. I loved this look Marysia put together when we photographed her incredible Venice Beach home, for example.
Marysia styled a pair of her own high-waist khaki green pants with our merino puffy crewneck in charcoal and black heeled Chelsea boots for a look that was perfect for winter work days—and everything in between. Marysia added her own style signature—a wide-brim hat—to complete the outfit. “Hats make any outfit chicer,” she commented during the shoot. I love the proportions of this look and the fact that it feels really polished without being too austere for Southern California’s laid-back vibe.
Marysia herself admits that her style has softened a bit since she and her family relocated from New York to LA. “I think my style is getting a little bit more bohemian, even without trying,” she admitted during our visit. “That said, I’m still a ‘less is more’ kind of person when it comes to getting dressed.” Personally, I can’t think of a more stylish combination!
