If you’re planning a rustic wedding or outdoor party this summer, you’ll appreciate our latest gathering at Bridgehampton’s Topping Rose House. We invited a few friends to toast our just-opened Southampton pop-up in their beautiful restored barn. Leilani Bishop, who just opened a beauty and wellness boutique in Amagansett called Botanica Bazaar, and the ever-luminous Hilary Rhoda, were my co-hosts for the night. It was a magical evening that felt like a true kick-off to summer.
Because the barn was so naturally warm and beautiful, we kept the décor simple and elegant. A linen tablecloth and natural metal tabouret chairs felt at home in the space without overdoing the rustic theme. From there we added simple glass votives filled with tea lights and cascading floral bouquets arranged by Liza Lubell of Peartree Flowers. Liza also wove garland around the chandeliers in the space, which looked so romantic. It’s always helpful to have extra greenery on hand for those finishing touches.
Topping Rose House’s farm-to-table restaurant created the menu for us. We started with fresh kale salad with parmesan and lemon, followed by a garden vegetable brown rice bowl with salsa verde, and black sea bass with broccoli and potato puree for our main course. The light, healthy summer fare left just enough room for a gorgeous dessert of carrot cake served with coconut sorbet—and some great wine, of course. XXJKE
