After hearing several of my friends rave about Croft Alley when it first opened, I knew I had experience it for myself – and upon doing so, fell in love. Opened by Michael Della Femina and his chef-partner Phuong Tran, the wonderfully intimate spot is set inside a gorgeous pre-war building and features courtyard seating […]
One of my favorite things about summer is the type of get-togethers it brings – easy, laid-back occasions with family and good friends. We recently had just this sort of afternoon, when my good friend Leanne (beautiful in my Grid Georgette Maxi) hosted the perfect backyard barbecue and pool party, complete with great food, great music, and some […]
When it comes to get-togethers all at once wonderfully unfussy and expertly planned, one of my favorites is the lovely and talented Annie Campbell – and her recent party in celebration of National Watermelon Day highlighted all the reasons why. Featuring as-always amazing food and drink and chic and easy theme-perfect decor, it was a laid-back summer get-together […]
By now you know that I love an excuse to throw a get-together, no matter what the occasion. That said, it doesn’t always have to be a labor-intensive affair. In fact, the casual, no-fuss gatherings are often some of my favorites. With this in mind, after being reminded of Heirloom LA’s next-level food at our most […]
I’ve yet to visit Peggy North’s Venice gem, Fire and Creme, and leave uninspired. And on a recent visit, I was so in love with the all adorable cherry items she had in-store, I just had to throw a party for the little ones that incorporated them. To put it all together, I asked Peggy to […]
Our most recent visit to Ojai was filled with doing, seeing and enjoying, and one of the highlights was a backyard barbecue at the home of my dear friend Yifat Oren. She and I have known each other for years – she planned my wedding, and we’ve been friends ever since – and always love […]
One of Downtown LA’s most celebrated restaurants, Alma has long been on my list to try. Opened by partners Ari Taymor and Ashleigh Parsons in June of 2012, it has been on the receiving end of numerous awards, and boasts an ever-evolving seasonal tasting menu that features ingredients harvested and foraged from a select group of […]
We’ve been on a bit of a citrus kick around here, and what better way to celebrate its beautiful flavors than with a get-together that did just that. For the next in our series on seasonal entertaining: a meal inspired by winter’s citrus, set against a backdrop of decor that highlighted the theme.
After a beautiful career, my sister Saree’s most beloved horse Saphi is retiring. Much to my delight –I have been riding Saphi for the last year and have fallen in love as well – she is passing him down to me. And because he is so loved, we wanted to celebrate him with a holiday retirement party worthy of such a special horse.
For the next in our series on seasonal entertaining, I wanted to host a small dinner inspired by fall and the delicious apples it brings. To do so, I went for details that felt warm and a bit girly, and a menu filled with all things sweet.
For the next in our series of seasonal entertaining posts, a charming, relaxed get-together hosted by my friend and insanely talented jewelry designer, Irene Neuwirth.
For the latest installment in our seasonal entertaining series, it was all about fun (and of course fabulous food and drink) as Annie Campbell hosted a game night featuring elevated B.L.T. sandwiches as the star of the show.
For the second in a series of seasonal entertaining posts hosted by some of my nearest and dearest: a simple, authentic dinner party with girlfriends, thrown by the amazing Annie Campbell of Annie Campbell Catering.
With summer officially upon us, it felt the perfect time to kick off a series of seasonal entertaining posts, hosted by some of my nearest and dearest. The first: a quintessentially summer seafood boil.
Decor elements designed to make the perfect garden party.
