One of my dear friends, designer Erin Fetherston, welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world earlier this year. To celebrate Erin and her bundle of joy, her friend and Martha Stewart veteran Kate Berry co-hosted a baby shower with Erin’s mom, Barbara, and another friend, Tana Chung, in Fetherston’s new West Hollywood home. I’m so […]
Nothing is better in the late summer than a casual, outdoor meal with friends, complete with delicious food and plenty of shade. And the with the launch of my fall collection coming up, we had a perfect excuse to plan one. Marlien Rentmeester of Le Catch and Jessica De Ruiter, who hosted the event in […]
I always love putting together parties and gatherings with friends and family but this one holds a special place in my heart. It was a bridal shower for my youngest sister Saree, held in my other sister Maggie’s backyard. Saree loves to ride horses, she actually competes, so we used that as inspiration for a […]
As much as I love a good dinner or cocktail party with friends, sometimes it’s easier to gather for brunch. I knew our just-opened Southampton pop-up would be the perfect setting for a meal at this hour; it’s drenched in the most beautiful natural light during the day. Cristina Cuomo, my friend and the Editor-in-Chief […]
If you’re planning a rustic wedding or outdoor party this summer, you’ll appreciate our latest gathering at Bridgehampton’s Topping Rose House. We invited a few friends to toast our just-opened Southampton pop-up in their beautiful restored barn. Leilani Bishop, who just opened a beauty and wellness boutique in Amagansett called Botanica Bazaar, and the ever-luminous Hilary […]
When it came time to plan my daughter Ripley’s fifth birthday celebration, I realized just how much we’re alike. She didn’t want a big party; she wanted to invite three friends for a horseback riding lesson in Brentwood followed by a picnic brunch. As much as I love riding, I was obviously happy to oblige. […]
I was recently incredibly honored to be featured on the cover of Domino, one of my favorite magazines. The beautiful spread in their Spring 2016 issue gave readers a look inside my family’s Lake Tahoe home, which is a very special place to me. To commemorate this exciting occasion, the magazine invited me to host a […]
If you read all about Annie Campbell in yesterday’s post, you know she’s one of my favorite creative LA chefs and party planners. For as much imagination as she brings to the table, it seems only fitting that her baby shower would be an original and inspired affair for the books. My frequent crafting collaborator […]
I’ve shared my love for CAP Beauty, an unparalleled online destination for all-natural inner and outer beauty, before (our visit to their newly-opened CAP Beauty boutique-spa in NY’s West Village seen here). So, when I found out that founders and all-around amazing ladies Kerrilynn Pamer and Cindy DiPrima Morisse were looking to come west, I knew that […]
When I first learned about FEED, an organization founded by Lauren Bush Lauren whose mission is to create good products that help feed the world, I couldn’t help but be inspired – and get involved. Founded in 2007, this incredible organization has provided nearly 90 million meals to those in need through the sale of bags, apparel, and accessories, by […]
When the lovely and talented Annie Campbell hosts a get-together, you can count on an incredible menu, thoughtful (and often unexpected) details, and an overall wonderful event. So for something as special as a bridal shower for one of her dear friends (and fellow hostesses), the same of course held true – and then some. The intimate […]
As I shared yesterday, I am thrilled to announce the arrival of Jenni Kayne + Pottery Barn Kids, available now online and in Pottery Barn Kids stores. Included in the special collection: furniture such as a play Teepee and Beanbag Chairs, beautifully crafted bedding including Embroidered Linen Quilts and Sheet Sets, whimsical decorative accessories like Pom-Pom Garlands, Glitter […]
For her fourth birthday, all Ripley wanted was a princess-themed celebration, and how could I refuse. To put it all together, I enlisted the help of some of my favorite ladies, including decor and design from Fire and Creme, florals from Moon Canyon, thoughtful touches from Amy Blessing and delicious bites and dessert from Annie Campbell. The end result: a magical, modern take on the princess theme, and a day that Rip will not soon forget.
I recently had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful dinner for an equally wonderful cause – an evening of coming together to help end world hunger, and in support of an organization working to do just that.
For the next in our series on seasonal entertaining: a beautiful baby shower with details inspired by the citrus arrangements created especially for the occasion.
For my sister Saree’s birthday this year, I hosted a small family dinner at my parents’ home in Santa Monica. Wanting to create an evening that felt like a true reflection of Saree and her style, I centered the menu and elements on some of her favorite things, wildflowers.
