Having already tried one of Barrett’s inspired tartines with ricotta, apricot, and mint, I just had to try her Ricotta Crostini with Tomato Vinaigrette. We have the most delicious cherry tomatoes growing in our garden, and Ripley loves to help me pick them – in the summer months, we tend to have an overabundance of them in our kitchen! I think we may have just solved that problem.
Pamela taught me how to make these healthy granola bars in class several years ago, and they are just delicious. Not only are they the perfect light dessert for summer, but my kids also love making them with me, which is always a plus!
As you all know by now, I love trying out recipes from Barrett of Valleybrink Road, and this Kale Salad with Serrano, Mint, and Breadcrumbs is no exception – it has become a spring staple in our house, and I absolutely can’t get enough!

Steven Arroyo is the man behind some of LA’s most cherished eateries and his latest venture, Escuela Taqueria, is a family favorite of ours. From the food to the décor, we were instantly hooked. Tanner and Ripley love their chips and quesadillas, and there are always vegan and veggie options for Richard and I.
This January marks three years of cooking class in my kitchen with Pamela Salzman. To celebrate I wanted to share one of my favorite winter recipes with all of you, Pamela’s amazing Miso Soup. It is delicious, easy to make, and incredibly healthy.
