My godparents’ Joan and Jerry have an amazing ranch in Santa Ynez that I was lucky enough to grow up visiting. They have 20 beautiful acres with horses in the hills of Woodstock Ranch, which is 30 minutes north of Santa Barbara inland. Santa Ynez and Los Olivos are both gorgeous settings filled with organic farms, horses, livestock, lavender farms, and vineyards.
Ambre Dahan is the mother of two beautiful girls, Ella 4 and Billie 2, and is married to Joe Dahan of Joe’s Jeans. She is the design director at Joe’s and is also launching her own fashion website in the near future. Ambre was born in Paris and now lives in Los Angeles with her gorgeous family. She has amazing energy, great style, and I wanted to share her home and family with R+T.
Shiva Rose is an actress, mother of two, and author of the fantastic blog the Local Rose. I went to visit her beautiful home and ask her to share her secrets with Rip+Tan. I met Shiva years ago when she was neighbors with my best friend Nicole Simone and was instantly drawn to her energy and her healthy, laid-back lifestyle.
Between Laurie Gladstein and Pamela Salzman, I’m in very good hands when it comes to my herbs. Laurie has taught me how to plant and maintain a thriving herb garden while Pamela has shared her secrets for storing herbs with me.
Leanne Citrone is an amazing hair stylist and co-owner of the Andy LeCompte Salon in West Hollywood, right behind my Almont store. Leanne was born in England and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two adorable children – Luca and Willow. I met her when I was 14 – I was her first client and she was my first fancy haircut. She still cuts my hair, and has become one of my close friends. She has great, effortless taste that I wanted to share with Rip+Tan.
My last post described the process of clearing out my pantry according to the wisdom of the great Pamela Salzman. After getting rid of expired and unhealthy stuff and investing in new staples, the fun part began – I got to reorganize the whole pantry and make it look beautiful!
Like most kids his age, Tanner loves pretending and dressing up. But of course, being the controlling fashionista I am, I can’t deal with those drugstore costumes made of only synthetic materials. So I made it my mission to scour the internet for cute costumes.
Now that I’m a mom, instead of shopping for myself, all I do is shop for my kids. And of all the places to do it, Paris is by far the most exciting. The city of lights is filled with amazing kids clothes, toys and décor.
After skiing this Christmas holiday we were lucky enough to get to go to the coast of Baja, Mexico with my family. Beautiful and relaxing – we saw whales, dolphins, sea lions, wild horses and jumping Manta Rays -a Baja special.
Nothing makes Valentine’s Day extra special like a piece of gorgeous jewelry. Because I am a lover of jewels, especially when they are well designed and interesting, I have made a point to make sure I absolutely adore every piece of jewelry sold in my store.
Like many, I am very enthusiastic about eating organically and cooking seasonally. I recently took the ultimate step in making my food local— I planted a beautiful vegetable garden in my front yard…

I was first introduced to the amazing Alice Waters when my friends Jessica and Jed gave me her book, In The Green Kitchen. It has recipes from other great chefs and it gave me a good foundation for cooking. I learned lots about technique, which was and still is new territory for me in the […]
My family takes a trip together every summer and three years ago we traveled to Italy. Tanner was just nine months old and it was one of the best trips Richard and I have ever taken. It was an especially meaningful trip for Richard, since his mother was born there and he had never been. […]
