I was recently introduced to Amanda, after already being acquainted with her amazing juicery Moon Juice, and we soon discovered that we shared many close friends. Amanda opened Moon Juice, an organic pressed juicery and nut milk shop, in Venice in early 2012, and has since enjoyed incredible success fueled by a philosophy rooted in nutrition, wellness, and simplicity.
I first met Baelyn over ten years ago when she was modeling and I had just started designing. Both Virgos and the same age, we instantly connected and hit it off. Soon after, she became my fit model, and so for the next several years we saw quite a bit of each other. Since then, she has taken up a totally different lifestyle – one that I find both beautiful and inspiring.
I first met Katie years ago through her sister Alyson, who is one of Richard’s oldest and dearest friends. She is wonderfully quirky and sweet, and never fails to makes me laugh. She is also an amazingly talented interior designer with a great eye and colorful sense of style.
I first met Kimberly through her husband, Michael Muller, just over ten years ago. I came to their house way too early to pick Michael up for a shoot, and Kim was pregnant, making eggs in the kitchen with a big smile on her face. Years later, Michael and Kimberly set Richard and I up on our first date. Needless to say, they hold a very special place in our hearts.
Born in Washington, D.C., Kimberly moved to Los Angeles and worked in the entertainment industry representing directors and later producing. She then met Michael, a very talented photographer (download his App if you haven’t already), and they started a gorgeous family together. She is an amazing mother to three beautiful girls, and in her spare time writes children’s books and has a blog. As you probably know by now, besides being a great mother and talented writer, Kim is also the queen of crafts. She creates the most magical gift wrapping and centerpieces that never cease to blow me away.
Her home is no different – she has a great house in the Hills that perfectly captures her warm and eclectic sense of style. My favorite parts of the home are all of the spaces that she has created for her kids. From the kitchen to the playroom to her girls’ rooms, she has helped to create fun environments by letting go and allowing each of her girls to go wild and express their unique sense of style. I envy this about her and hope to one day be able to let go in the same way! XXJKE
Soon after I met Brady, she introduced me to her friend and partner, Kristen Lee. Kristen and Jack, also 2, started joining Brady and Marlowe for music class at our house each week and I am so glad they did! Kristen lives in the Hills with her son Jackson and husband Joe in a great Ed Fickett mid-century home, built in 1959.
I first met Brady on a flight to Italy two summers ago – we both had babies under six months, and were seated a row apart from one another on what promised to be a long overnight flight. Thank god the little ladies behaved themselves! While we waited for our luggage we began chatting, realized we had some mutual friends, and immediately connected. Once back in LA, Brady started bringing her adorable daughter Marlowe, now 2, to music class at our house, and our friendship began.
I first met Estee in the Mercer lobby in during New York Fashion Week eight years ago. Two weeks later, I was set up with my now-husband Richard on our first date; shortly thereafter, I learned that Estee was one of his closest and oldest friends and that is when our friendship began.
Our next profile is my amazing younger sister Maggie Kayne. Maggie is the director of a gallery called Kayne Griffin Corcoran with two partners- Bill Griffin and Jim Corcoran. Together, they work with incredible artists like James Turrell, David Lynch and Deanna Thompson, to name a few. They are currently in the process of building out a new space on La Brea with the help of James Turrell, who is designing and installing a sky space inside.

Eve is a native Angelino who went to the Center for Early Education and Crossroads like me, and later on to USC. After working in the entertainment industry, Eve […]
Carly and I met at Crossroads during our junior year of high school. She’s a hippie at heart and an amazingly talented artist with a very unique sense of style. Carly has always been a free spirit with a strong sense of self and she’s successful in whatever she’s passionate about, which is ever-changing and evolving in the best way.
Nicole Simone and I were introduced to one another through our moms when we were 11. We instantly connected and have been best friends ever since. Nicole has always had a very unique, cool style and stays true to herself no matter what.
I first met Lauren Soloff through my good friend Leanne, who brought her to cooking class at my house. Hailing from New York, Lauren is the genius behind The Granola Project. Tanner is hooked on it – he asks for it daily. Mom to Roman, age 6, she’s also an amazing interior designer with great, effortless style and I wanted to share her home and what inspires her with Rip + Tan.
Ambre Dahan is the mother of two beautiful girls, Ella 4 and Billie 2, and is married to Joe Dahan of Joe’s Jeans. She is the design director at Joe’s and is also launching her own fashion website in the near future. Ambre was born in Paris and now lives in Los Angeles with her gorgeous family. She has amazing energy, great style, and I wanted to share her home and family with R+T.
Shiva Rose is an actress, mother of two, and author of the fantastic blog the Local Rose. I went to visit her beautiful home and ask her to share her secrets with Rip+Tan. I met Shiva years ago when she was neighbors with my best friend Nicole Simone and was instantly drawn to her energy and her healthy, laid-back lifestyle.
Leanne Citrone is an amazing hair stylist and co-owner of the Andy LeCompte Salon in West Hollywood, right behind my Almont store. Leanne was born in England and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two adorable children – Luca and Willow. I met her when I was 14 – I was her first client and she was my first fancy haircut. She still cuts my hair, and has become one of my close friends. She has great, effortless taste that I wanted to share with Rip+Tan.
