Located within driving distance from Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Santa Ynez Valley is one of California’s best weekend getaways—especially this time of year when the weather is beginning to cool down. Part of Santa Barbara County, the valley includes the towns of Solvang, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Buellton, and Ballard, and is known […]
Yesterday we took you inside Hartwood—a beloved restaurant in Tulum—and today I wanted to share another favorite spot from the region. Coqui Coqui is a small Mexico-based hotel group founded by Argentinian architect and perfumer Nicolas Malleville and his wife, Italian designer Francesca Bonato. Their Tulum property, pictured here, is temporarily closed but Malleville and Bonato’s Valladolid property is […]
We recently opened our fifth store in California in Newport Beach and I’m so excited about the space. Located within the newly expanded and restored Lido Marina Village—an open-air retail center with waterfront views—it’s a great shopping destination for Orange County locals and visitors alike. Newport Beach in general is a wonderful choice for a […]
There’s so much to see and do in the San Francisco area, and as Palo Alto grows in popularity, it warrants a weekend trip unto itself. We just opened our first store in the beautiful Standford Shopping Center in Palo Alto partly for that reason. Between the delicious restaurants, charming movie theaters, stylish hotels, and […]
Nashville is such a vibrant city with incredible music, beautifully rustic food, and lust-worthy denim and vintage as far as the eye can see. And between its deeply cool heritage as a music town, and its new reputation as a hotbed for creative folks and artists of all types, it’s in an especially good place […]
From the bohemian hamlet of Montauk, to the all-American village of Southampton—where our very first pop-up store is located—the Hamptons are the ideal destination for a summer getaway. It’s one of those places that’s beautiful everywhere you turn, and has just enough city pleasures—good shopping, stylish restaurants, and live music—without losing it’s lazy, beach-community charm. […]
One of the best things about Los Angeles is that each of its many neighborhoods has a completely distinct personality. I’ve found that to be especially true in Topanga Canyon, an artistic, magical enclave of the Santa Monica Mountains that almost feels like a time warp to the ‘70s. I grew up riding horses with my […]
For as long as I can remember, summer has meant time spent with loved ones at our family home on Lake Tahoe. It’s one of our favorite places to get away from it all, and the perfect way to wind down after a busy year. And while much of our time is spent on the […]
Sometimes you just need a bit of a reset, and this year, Richard and I started off our summer doing just that with an amazing stay at Golden Door in Escondido. Designed to empower guests to reposition themselves at the center of their own lives by tending to mind, body, and spirit, it is a […]
A getaway is always a good idea – even if just for a long weekend – and one of my favorite places to take a break from it all is Ojai. A place unlike any other – with a vibe to match – this decidedly laid-back and bohemian destination is filled with natural beauty, and an abundance of […]
Some of my favorite things about this time of year are the seasonal treats that accompany it. As days grow a bit shorter and nights become a bit cooler, I get excited for all things fall, including homemade apple pie and fresh apple cider.
For those of us who love camping and the great outdoors but like certain amenities like bathrooms and a mattress, glamping is the perfect way to get your fix without sacrificing creature comforts.
For Labor Day this year, my family took a trip to Dunton Hot Springs and had the most incredible time. My sister Saree had stayed there previously and recommended it, and upon experiencing for myself, I was completely blown away. Located an hour outside of Telluride off a dirt road (pretty much in the middle of nowhere), and surrounded by gorgeous mountains, rivers, and grazing cows, Dunton Hot springs is heaven on earth.
My godparents’ Joan and Jerry have an amazing ranch in Santa Ynez that I was lucky enough to grow up visiting. They have 20 beautiful acres with horses in the hills of Woodstock Ranch, which is 30 minutes north of Santa Barbara inland. Santa Ynez and Los Olivos are both gorgeous settings filled with organic farms, horses, livestock, lavender farms, and vineyards.
I have such fond memories of camping as a child, and really want my kids to experience the outdoors. My dream finally came true this summer- Richard and I took Tanner and Ripley, along with our friends Jessica and Jed and their adorable daughter James, to El Capitan.
Now that I’m a mom, instead of shopping for myself, all I do is shop for my kids. And of all the places to do it, Paris is by far the most exciting. The city of lights is filled with amazing kids clothes, toys and décor.
