I try to use as many natural products as possible in all areas of my life, and medicines are no exception. Over the years, I have become aware of a number of great homeopathic alternatives to standard medications – I stock up on Boiron products for anything from the flu, to bloating, to the common cold, and for the little ones, I always have this kit from Hylands on hand.
For Christmas last year, Richard gave me Kate: The Kate Moss Book, and it was, without a doubt, one of my favorite gifts. An instant classic, this visual retrospective of her twenty-plus years of modeling makes a gorgeous addition to any coffee table.
One of my all-time faves, The Mozza Cookbook features comforting classics from LA’s cult-worthy Italian restaurant and Pizzeria. I am especially obsessed with some of the recipes for side dishes – the long-cooked broccoli and roasted beets have become staples in our house.
Several years ago, I was lucky enough to have dinner at the incredible Hotel Il Pellicano in the Tuscan Maremma region of Italy. It was one of the most beautiful hotels I had ever seen and was situated on the insanely gorgeous Italian Coast – I fell completely in love.
Heidi Swanson’s beautiful blog, 101 Cookbooks, has long been one of my favorites, and her most recent cookbook, Super Natural Every Day, holds the same distinction. Heidi’s recipes focus primarily on natural, whole foods and ingredients while remaining uncomplicated and absolutely delicious – a combo I cannot resist!
As you know, I’m a big fan on Santa Maria Novella products and I keep their Rosewater on my nightstand and use it constantly! XXJKE
After my Safe and Non-Toxic Laundry Tips entry I did back in March, I had lots of requests for a cleaning post – so here it is. Just like with all my safe natural laundry products, when I was pregnant with Tanner, I read a lot about how harmful household chemicals were and made the commitment to completely rid my house of them. I made sure all the cleaning products in our house were safe and natural and to this day they are.
To round out my beauty product recommendations, I wanted to finish off with my favorite body products. This is the one area that I need to work on to be a little more dedicated to all-natural and clean products. These are my favorite brands that are on rotation in my bathroom.
