Since I started Rip & Tan eight years ago, I have asked the women we profile the same question: what is your favorite room in your home? The question is simple, but important. My own answer has changed throughout the years, but the root of it almost always lies in what room our family gravitates towards at any given time. Home is a feeling, but it also a place. It is the place where you feel most yourself, the place you reflect your taste and lifestyle, and most importantly, the place you create memories in. As Pamela Shamshiri said in her profile not long ago, “the small things that you interact with on your day to day are the most important…these tell your story and are a collection of your experiences in life until now.”
I couldn’t agree more. The pieces that mean the most to me are the ones that balance both form and function. As I’ve designed spaces for our family, both in our Los Angeles homes and our cabin in Lake Tahoe, striking this balance has been paramount. I have always believed that you shouldn’t have to sacrifice purpose and functionality for style. This is probably why I am asked about my home recommendations more than anything else. Finding these pieces is no easy feat.
It is with all of this in mind that I am thrilled to finally announce that fifteen years after the launch of my brand, we are introducing the first ever Jenni Kayne Home Collection in less than a week. The collection will launch online and in-stores on October 2nd. I am so excited to see how you make the pieces your own.
Stay tuned, and sign up to be the first to know. XXJKE
