I love decorating our home for the holidays every year, and setting a warm mood for the parties and family gatherings to come. Just a few simple things make such a difference, too. Warm, cozy textures in the form of a blanket or sheepskin throw, a beautiful winter candle like those from Mad et Len, and a wreath on the door or garland above the fireplace make a big impact and fill the room with a cozy, festive feeling.
Kristen Caissie from Moon Canyon Florals helped me with the latter this year. Kristen brought over natural, minimal wreaths similar to the ones she designed for our stores, along with winter branches, hemlock, and sugar pine cones to use on the mantel and in some of the ceramic pottery I’ve collected over the years. The beauty of buying a bounty of raw winter materials is that, instead of focusing on one big arrangement, you can create a variety of different vignettes using vessels of all sizes. It makes for a fun afternoon and allows you to easily infuse every room with the scent and feeling of winter. XXJKE
