Whether I’m wearing a one-piece or a bikini, I tend to gravitate towards simple, pared down swimsuits in neutral colors. New York based swimwear brand Solid & Striped speaks to this sensibility. The cuts have strength and personality while still being on the minimalist side. The brand uses high-quality Italian and Japanese fabrics that feel really expensive. These are definitely the kind of suits that you could keep in your rotation for more than one summer.
This season is our first carrying the five-year-old brand at Jenni Kayne. I picked my four favorite cuts and colors for our stores; two one-pieces and two bikinis in red, white, and navy blue. The Anne-Marie is a classic high-cut one-piece with a scoop neck and back. The strong red color looks great with denim. The Chelsea is our other one-piece. I love this suit’s skinny straps—and stripes! Our two bikinis, meanwhile, both have cuts with a little more coverage for a stylish, vintage-inspired look. The Elle suit comes in an amazing ivory rib that looks like a perfect T-shirt, and the Brigitte bikini is done in a sporty navy fabric. Check them out below—or the next time you’re in one of the stores! I hope you love them. XXJKE
