This is our third year hosting a Halloween party for our little ones and, as always, it was such a fun afternoon. The ever-talented Amy Blessing was my co-host again this time around, and put together the all-black table, handmade treats, and a fun craft project that everyone could participate in. Here are the details […]
Yesterday we shared decor ideas for a simple and elegant July 4th BBQ, which means we’re onto the best part: the menu. Rip & Tan’s In The Veggie Kitchen series focuses on healthful, veggie-centric meals, so it was fun to come up with recipes for a summer BBQ since it’s traditionally centered on meat and heavier […]
July 4th weekend is a great time to get outdoors and spend time with family and a BBQ is the perfect way to feed guests without taking away from the relaxation. But not all BBQs need to involve hot dogs, hamburgers, and coleslaw. For our latest installment of In the Veggie Kitchen I got together with […]
If you step into any Jenni Kayne store, one item that displayed season after season is a selection of smudge bundles. They top my list of favorite things. I always have them in my home, and I love to make and give them as gifts. In an effort to share this passion with others, Amy […]
My love of turmeric in healing food and tonics has been well documented, and I was recently thrilled to use the wellness spice in another way: as a natural dye. As Easter approaches, I love experimenting with new, festive ways to decorate eggs. The tradition has gotten quite elaborate and we’ve made some beautiful showpieces […]
There are few holidays kids seem to enjoy as much as Easter. I love getting into the spirit, and coming up with ways to create even more fun. The past two years my good friend and go-to crafting guru Amy Blessing helped put on a chic easter egg hunt. They were so successful we decided to […]
My friend and go-to caterer Annie Campbell was recently the guest of honor at an ingenious summer camp–themed baby shower cohosted by craft expert Amy Blessing and Judith Stern. Yesterday I shared all the perfectly planned details including decor, florals, takeaway gifts and a beautiful, thoughtful DIY project. But, of course, it wouldn’t be a […]
If you read all about Annie Campbell in yesterday’s post, you know she’s one of my favorite creative LA chefs and party planners. For as much imagination as she brings to the table, it seems only fitting that her baby shower would be an original and inspired affair for the books. My frequent crafting collaborator […]
As I’ve often shared in these pages, some of my favorite things to do with Rip and Tan are handmade projects of the all-natural variety. And one of my main sources of inspiration for just these kinds of things is Amy Blessing (her beyond-adorable naturally-decorated gingerbread houses seen here). Our most recent DIY project: bird […]
Decorating gingerbread houses with Amy Blessing has become a bit of tradition – and one of my favorite holiday activities with Rip and Tan (last year’s natural gingerbread houses seen here). With this in mind, I of course wanted to do the same again this year. And for this get-together we added even more fun, namely gingerbread […]
By now you know that I love decor of the all-natural variety – add handmade to the equation and I love it all the more. One of my favorites for such DIY projects: the lovely and talented Amy Blessing (her handmade pumpkin carving kit and naturally-decorated gingerbread houses seen here). With this in mind, she […]
One of my favorite things about homemade decor (apart from the fun of the doing) is that the result is a one-of-a-kind piece that couldn’t just be found at any store. The perfect example: this amazing take on an Advent calendar, created by the lovely and talented Amy Blessing, my source for all things beautiful, […]
I was recently chatting with the amazing Amy Blessing (my go-to for all things crafting) and lamenting about the fact that carving pumpkins with the little ones isn’t as fun as one would hope, because it can be so hard. And while she completely agreed, she of course had a solution. The key, she shared, is […]
Some of my favorite get-togethers for the little ones have been those that combined the talents of the amazing Annie Campbell and Amy Blessing (our Halloween cooking and carving party seen here). So with the spooky holiday just around the corner, I couldn’t resist teaming up with these lovely ladies once again. Per usual, they blew […]
As I shared yesterday, the decor elements for Ripley’s princess-themed party were so great, and Annie Campbell’s menu for the day was the icing on the cake.
For her fourth birthday, all Ripley wanted was a princess-themed celebration, and how could I refuse. To put it all together, I enlisted the help of some of my favorite ladies, including decor and design from Fire and Creme, florals from Moon Canyon, thoughtful touches from Amy Blessing and delicious bites and dessert from Annie Campbell. The end result: a magical, modern take on the princess theme, and a day that Rip will not soon forget.
