My friends Paige Appel and Kelly Harris helped me put together the décor for our recent pre-Thanksgiving gathering and cooking class, which felt like the perfect excuse to talk to them about hosting holiday parties. Between their events company, Bash Please, and their just-opened, treasure-filled store in Los Angeles, called Midland, I knew they’d have […]
Yesterday I shared a few of the décor details from our recent Thanksgiving gathering with friends, but the table was only a small part of the puzzle. Chef Daphne Oz taught a cooking class before we all sat down together, which turned our feast into a lively educational experience. Daphne is also a host on […]
Every year we put together a Thanksgiving meal with friends to test out recipes and catch up with each other before the holiday actually arrives. It’s a great tradition and we keep it easy with a vegetarian menu and everyone doing their part to bring the different elements together. This year I hosted with Paige […]
As I shared yesterday, our most recent In The Kitchen with The Chalkboard Mag featured Fourth of July-themed decor elements and a meal to match. And for this get-together, we were lucky enough to have Matt Poley of Heirloom LA walk us through creating an inspired picnic menu perfect for the occasion. I was first introduced […]
With summer in full swing, it felt the perfect time to once again get together for afternoon In the Kitchen with The Chalkboard Mag. And with Fourth of July celebrations right around the corner, we decided to throw a holiday-inspired picnic, complete with menu and decor suited for the occasion. To help with all the elements, we […]
Sweet, laid-back, incredibly talented, and with such a great sensibility, it’s no wonder that the lades of Bash, Please have struck gold with their one-stop shop for creative event and styling production. That said, I was thrilled to get a peek into their studio and process to see where and how all the magic happens.
For our Holiday Veggie Kitchen, the amazing ladies of Bash, Please created not only a warm and beautiful atmosphere for guests, but also their exquisite parting gifts.
As I shared yesterday, our holiday get-together with The Chalkboard Mag was one characterized by wonderfully comforting food and decor. As always, the lovely Barrett from Valleybrink Road created a meal both memorable and delicious.
With the holidays in full swing, it felt the perfect time for yet another afternoon of great food and company with The Chalkboard Mag. For this installment: a festive and cozy holiday luncheon featuring equally comforting food and decor, courtesy of Valleybrink Road, Bash, Please and Moon Canyon Flowers.
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it felt like the perfect opportunity for another afternoon of great food and company with The Chalkboard Mag. For this get-together: a Mother’s Day Tea with some of my favorite mamas and their little ones. We were so fortunate to again have one of my sweet favorites, Valerie Gordon of the otherworldly Valerie Confections, provided all of the small bites. Cocktails were provided by a new favorite, the impossibly dashing Pharmacie, and the decor and design elements were made possible by the beyond amazing ladies at Bash, Please.
