Over the past couple of months, the always-amazing Maurice of Bloom & Plume has been my floral go-to for all things Holiday DIY (his how-tos for live ornaments, gourd and pumpkin diplays seen here). For the latest in our series on floral arrangements made simple, he was kind enough to walk me through creating a fresh […]

With the holidays upon us, it felt the perfect time for yet another installment in my series on floral arrangements made simple. And for this tutorial (perhaps one of my favorite ever), I once again called on my friend and floral go-to, the amazing Maurice Harris of Bloom & Plume. Our project: stunning live ornaments, […]
As I shared previously, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the amazing Maurice Harris of Bloom & Plume for ages – and he never ceases to amaze (his outside the box pumpkin floral arrangement seen here). I’ve had the pleasure of working with the amazing Maurice Harris of Bloom & Plume for ages – apart from being one of my very favorite floral designers, he’s also the genius behind the incredible window installations at my Almont store. Ever a source of inspiration and creativity, he was kind enough to walk me through […]
Yesterday, I shared some of the wonderful health benefits of eucalyptus, but it is a tree as beautiful as it is beneficial. I asked the always-amazing Maurice of Bloom & Plume to create an assortment of arrangements that really showcased its beauty, and true to form, he did just that.
For the next in our series on seasonal entertaining: a beautiful baby shower with details inspired by the citrus arrangements created especially for the occasion.

I love lilacs, but never feel confident arranging them myself, and am often frustrated with how long they last. I asked the ever-amazing Maurice Harris of Bloom & Plume to teach me some tips and tricks for creating beautiful, lasting arrangements, and was so happy with how they turned out.
While planning the kids’ cooking and carving pumpkin party with Annie and Amy, we decided it would be fun to include the adults and set a beautiful table where they could enjoy some delicious food.
I can’t believe we are already celebrating Ripley’s second birthday, but it’s here! Ripley absolutely loves pigs and bunnies, so a country fair for the ladies felt like the perfect theme. Not knowing exactly what my version of a country fair looked like, I was inspired by different parties I found on Pinterest and ran with it. We had a small group of little girls over for the festivities, and Ripley had a great day.
Richard and I dread going out for Valentine’s Day dinner every year. So instead, for the last couple years we’ve invited a group of friends over with their little ones for a casual dinner, which was super fun. Here’s what we did this year.
As you know, I love having fresh flowers around but don’t always know how to do them myself without them looking like an amateur arranged them. Thank god for Maurice Harris of Bloom and Plume, who is the best teacher!
For our second post in our In the Vegan Kitchen series with The Chalkboard, we wanted to learn and share some delicious vegan Christmas dishes for all of you who are entertaining this holiday season.
I love having fresh flowers around the house and I put them everywhere – they make me so happy and brighten things up. While I try my best to make the perfect flower arrangement, I always feel like there’s something I’m missing. To solve this problem, I recently hired Maurice Harris, the owner of Bloom and Plume, to give a few friends and me lessons on how to make the perfect arrangement.
