Last year I was invited to co-host a wreath-making workshop to benefit St. Joseph Center with the lovely Heather Taylor and the ladies behind Hollyflora. St. Joseph Center is an organization that provides working poor families and homeless people of all ages in Western Los Angeles with resources and tools to better their lives. It is such a wonderful organization, […]
It’s always important for me to find ways to help those less fortunate, especially at this time of year, when we have so much to be thankful for. So when the lovely and talented Heather Taylor invited me to co-host a wreath-making workshop in support of St. Joseph Center, an organization very close to her […]
As I shared yesterday, our laid-back lunch with Claire Thomas and The Little Market was such a treat. And while the decor elements were on the soft and subdued side, our menu was all about color. Featuring bright, flavorful and unexpected elements from the always-amazing Claire, the meal was as visually stunning as it was delicious. See […]
As I shared yesterday, when I discovered Lauren Conrad and Hanna Skvarla’s The Little Market, a beautiful and inspirational online marketplace featuring products handmade by skilled craftswomen around the world, I was instantly hooked. So when the amazing Claire Thomas, one of my go-to’s for unfussy yet sophisticated (and seriously delicious) food, offered to connect us for […]
As I shared yesterday, Annie Campbell’s bridal shower, fêting deal friend and fellow hostess Julianna, was all things romantic and feminine, with flowers galore. And the menu, inspired by the bride-to-be’s Southern roots, was equally amazing. Featuring end-of-summer California ingredients, with touches of Southern flavor and charm, it was a meal perfect for the occasion. […]
When the lovely and talented Annie Campbell hosts a get-together, you can count on an incredible menu, thoughtful (and often unexpected) details, and an overall wonderful event. So for something as special as a bridal shower for one of her dear friends (and fellow hostesses), the same of course held true – and then some. The intimate […]
One of my favorite things about summer is the type of get-togethers it brings – easy, laid-back occasions with family and good friends. We recently had just this sort of afternoon, when my good friend Leanne (beautiful in my Grid Georgette Maxi) hosted the perfect backyard barbecue and pool party, complete with great food, great music, and some […]
As I shared yesterday, our most recent In The Kitchen with The Chalkboard Mag featured Fourth of July-themed decor elements and a meal to match. And for this get-together, we were lucky enough to have Matt Poley of Heirloom LA walk us through creating an inspired picnic menu perfect for the occasion. I was first introduced […]
With summer in full swing, it felt the perfect time to once again get together for afternoon In the Kitchen with The Chalkboard Mag. And with Fourth of July celebrations right around the corner, we decided to throw a holiday-inspired picnic, complete with menu and decor suited for the occasion. To help with all the elements, we […]
As I shared yesterday, our most recent In the Veggie Kitchen featured a menu and decor perfect suited for spring, this time led by the amazing Helene Henderson of Malibu Farm. An inspired suggestion from our co-hosts at The Chalkboard Mag, Helene was a breath of fresh air, and walked us through creating a meal that was organic, local and simply delicious.
With spring in the air, it felt time to once again get together with some of my favorite ladies for a laid-back afternoon of culinary inspiration and instruction. As always, we partnered with my go-to for all things beautiful and healthful, The Chalkboard Mag, and for the first time, the lovely Helene Henderson of Malibu Farm.
I’ve recently been spotlighting all things citrus, and in keeping with the theme, wanted to share another arrangement from one of my floral favorites. For this edition, the lovely Holly Vesecky of Hollyflora walked me through creating a citrus-inspired display using kumquats and an assortment of complementary greenery and blooms.
With thirty years of collective experience, Hollyflora owners Holly Vesecky and Rebecca Uchtman have established themselves as one one of the premier floral design studios in the area, and their inspired arrangements have made them one of my very favorites. Now settled into their new mid-city location – complete with a gorgeous storefront and creative inspiration for days – they were kind enough to welcome us in for a glimpse at their creative space and process.
I was first introduced to the floral studio that is Hollyflora through some of my favorite ladies – and was immediately hooked. A collaboration between owners Holly Vesecky and Rebecca Uchtman, the studio has become a source for all things beautiful and innovative, fresh and unexpected. And I never cease to be blown away by their incredible arrangements. With Valentine’s Day upon us, Holly was kind enough to walk me through creating a modern romantic display.
