Up today in our Celebrating Motherhood series is one of the wonderful photographers we work with, Nicki Sebastian, who just had her second baby a few weeks ago. Nicki is an incredible mother and all around warm person, and I thought she would be perfect for this series. Adjusting to life with two children is […]
This week I launched my Mother’s Day gift guide and shared the delicious details from our Mother’s Day-themed edition of In the Veggie Kitchen, but I couldn’t stop there! I also wanted to take a moment to celebrate a few of the talented and stylish mothers I know, whose work we’ve featured here on Rip & […]
As much as a luxurious Mother’s Day gift can be a nice treat, any mom will tell you that it isn’t necessary to go all out; handmade gifts and cards are always special. After our Mother’s Day lunch with Honey Hi, my friend and gifting expert Simone LeBlanc showed everyone at the gathering how to […]
Mother’s Day is one of my favorite holidays because we always get to do something fun as a family, like go to a big brunch or host a gathering with our friends and their kids. Throw in some gorgeous spring weather and it’s basically the perfect day. And then there are the gifts! Truth be […]
Motherhood is one of the greatest pleasures in life. As exciting and joyous as it is, being a mom is also a lot of work. Whether or not you’re a mother, I think it’s wonderful that we all take a day to appreciate everything they do. Simple gestures like picking a bouquet of flowers or […]
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s a perfect time to reflect on motherhood and to celebrate all the moms in our lives. I love giving gifts, especially on holidays like this one, which is so full of joy and love. Running a business and raising children is no easy feat, and my close […]
There’s no day more special than Mother’s Day, and each year as it approaches, I find myself searching for the perfect gift to give my own. Usually, this ends up being some of my favorite products or something that will allow her the pampering she deserves. With this in mind, I decided to put together an […]
As I shared yesterday, our Mother’s Day get-together with The Chalkboard Mag was all about baked goods of the all natural, grain-free and refined sugar-free variety. Leading our afternoon of inspiration and instruction: the lovely ladies of Sweet Laurel Bakery, Laurel Gallucci and Claire Thomas. Longtime friends and now partners in the almost-too-delicious-to-be-true paleo (and sometimes raw/vegan) bakery, they were a joy […]
I’ve had the pleasure of spending time in the kitchen with Claire Thomas – whose genuine love of food is literally contagious – on several occasions (our Halloween dinner and Easter cooking class seen here). So when she told me she was starting a delicious paleo (and sometimes raw/vegan) bakery with friend Laurel Gallucci, Sweet Laurel Bakery to be exact, I […]
The final element to our Mother’s Day Tea: inspired cocktails courtesy of a wonderful new discovery, Pharmacie. Led by founder and drinkist Talmadge Lowe, Pharmacie brings a decidedly debonair element to any event – not to mention drinks that are equal parts innovative and delicious. For our tea, Talmadge made two tasty, refreshing sips. The […]
As mentioned earlier this week, our Mother’s Day Tea with The Chalkboard Mag was a beautiful success. One of the key ingredients: the delectable menu from Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections. We were fortunate enough to have enjoyed Valerie’s treats and instruction at our Valentine’s Day cooking class, and to have her provide the goodies for this special get-together was just as sweet.
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it felt like the perfect opportunity for another afternoon of great food and company with The Chalkboard Mag. For this get-together: a Mother’s Day Tea with some of my favorite mamas and their little ones. We were so fortunate to again have one of my sweet favorites, Valerie Gordon of the otherworldly Valerie Confections, provided all of the small bites. Cocktails were provided by a new favorite, the impossibly dashing Pharmacie, and the decor and design elements were made possible by the beyond amazing ladies at Bash, Please.
Since our last In the Veggie Kitchen: Easter class was such a success, we decided to do something similar for Mother’s Day. This time we teamed up with The Chalkboard and Barrett from Valleybrink Road to learn how to make several gluten-free desserts that would make great additions to any Mother’s Day brunch.
