As I shared yesterday, our most recent get-together In the Kitchen with The Chalkboard Mag featured decor courtesy of Nickey Kehoe, and menu and instruction from superfood chef Julie Morris. A pioneer in cooking with superfoods, her mission is simple: to share recipes and nutrition tips that make a vibrantly healthy lifestyle both easy to […]

I’ve admired the work of Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe, the amazing team behind Nickey Kehoe, for ages. Some of my favorite designers (with the most incredible eye) their shop is a no-fail favorite for items for home – particularly decorative accessories and tabletop. With this in mind, I loved the idea of creating a […]
A summer sangria is always a good idea, and for our most recent In the Kitchen, our friends at Heirloom LA and The Chalkboard Mag conspired to create one of the best I have ever tasted. The game-changing, why-didn’t-I-think-of-that ingredient: Pressed Juicery Roots 3. To make our Summer Sangria, we combined red wine provided by Heirloom, […]
I do my best to make sure that, as a family, the ingredients we cook with, foods we eat, and products we use are safe, natural, and of the highest quality. Unfortunately, these items can often come at a premium, and aren’t as accessible as their less-than-healthy counterparts. So when good friend Kate Mulling (our Chalkboard Mag co-host […]
The terms Vegan and BBQ don’t generally go hand in hand, but after our Memorial Day-inspired get-together with Kitchen Mouse, they definitely should. For our most recent In the Kitchen, the lovely and talented Erica Daking was tasked with creating a completely vegan and gluten-free meal worthy of a summer-starting BBQ, and she more than rose to […]
I’ve been a fan of Kitchen Mouse owner Erica Daking (and her incredible vegan, gluten-free, farmer’s market food) ever since I met her through my good friend Kimberly Muller. So when we decided to plan a vegan-style BBQ to wrap up the season (stay tuned tomorrow for all the delicious details), I was so excited. For our late […]
As I shared yesterday, our most recent In the Veggie Kitchen featured a menu and decor perfect suited for spring, this time led by the amazing Helene Henderson of Malibu Farm. An inspired suggestion from our co-hosts at The Chalkboard Mag, Helene was a breath of fresh air, and walked us through creating a meal that was organic, local and simply delicious.
With spring in the air, it felt time to once again get together with some of my favorite ladies for a laid-back afternoon of culinary inspiration and instruction. As always, we partnered with my go-to for all things beautiful and healthful, The Chalkboard Mag, and for the first time, the lovely Helene Henderson of Malibu Farm.
As I shared yesterday, our Valentine’s Day get-together with The Chalkboard Mag was appropriately all about sweets, with inspiration and instruction courtesy of the always-amazing Annie Campbell. On the menu: a decadent Dark Chocolate Pots De Creme, a Strawberry & Raspberry Layered Pavlova, a Heart-Shaped Naked Layer Cake, and Honey Lavender Ice Cream.
It’s been a few months since our last In the Kitchen with The Chalkboard Mag, and with the amorous holiday fast approaching, we had the perfect excuse for another afternoon of great food and great company. On the menu for this occasion: a cooking class that was all about sweets, courtesy of the lovely Annie Campbell, and Valentine’s Day decor that felt natural, with just a touch of vamp.
As I shared yesterday, our holiday get-together with The Chalkboard Mag was one characterized by wonderfully comforting food and decor. As always, the lovely Barrett from Valleybrink Road created a meal both memorable and delicious.
With the holidays in full swing, it felt the perfect time for yet another afternoon of great food and company with The Chalkboard Mag. For this installment: a festive and cozy holiday luncheon featuring equally comforting food and decor, courtesy of Valleybrink Road, Bash, Please and Moon Canyon Flowers.
As mentioned yesterday, in preparation for the upcoming holiday, we once again teamed up with The Chalkboard Mag for a get-together both festive and delicious. On the menu for this year’s gathering: a vegetarian feast prepared by the incomparable Pamela Salzman.
In anticipation of the upcoming holiday, we once again teamed up with The Chalkboard Mag for a Thanksgiving meal and get-together that served as a perfect warm-up for the big day. On the menu and all around: a delicious vegetarian feast that was satisfying without being too heavy, and decor that was all at once festive and understated.
I fell in love with Purely Elizabeth founder Elizabeth Stein’s homemade floral syrups when I first spotted them on The Chalkboard Mag.
True to form, Pamela created the perfect spread for our Fourth of July get-together with The Chalkboard Mag. On the delicious menu this year: Veggie Burgers, a Charred Corn Salad with Tomato and Avocado, a Vegetarian Antipasto Chopped Salad, an Arugula and Farro Salad with Peaches, and a simply wonderful blueberry tart, which I will […]
